That happened to us in Mexico too. We were on a big bus going from Acapulco to Ixtapa for like 4 hours and he drove like a maniac. No guard rails and huge curves. I just had to accept the idea that I might die and that it was okay.

That's what I had to do, too. Resign myself to dying in a car. I kept singing "don't go chasin' waterfalls..." and I put my head on Henry's lap and closed my eyes :-D

Perhaps high speed driving on poor roads is common in Central America? When we were in Costa Rica taking a bus to Monteverde up in the mountains the driver was going really really fast on these windy roads that seemed partly washed out (it was the rainy season), in the dark. Kori looked out the window once and really wished she hadn't because it was a long way down once you got to the edge of the "road" a couple of feet away.
